M, <br />PENINSIU�LAIC.ONFLICT RESOLUTION CENTER <br />• Opening learning centers for youth to learn technical skills such as coding or IT <br />• Instead of having a council make decisions for the public, those matters should be in the <br />hands of the community <br />• City should find a way to provide free childcare in order to increase equity in the <br />community <br />• Have a BLM mural in downtown since the old one was taken down. <br />o Engage they youth instead of an art commission and explore the idea of youth <br />actually creating the art <br />o Youth have been the ones out in the protest so they should be involved in the <br />decision-making process. <br />• One youth participant stated that there is alcohol usage in the community skate park. That <br />gives a bad example for youth and the community <br />o Community center needs to be more inclusive <br />o Instead of police presence, there needs to be more social worker and non profit <br />presence in the community and the community center <br />• When it comes to policy making, there needs to be regular input from minorities. This <br />could entail an online polling system <br />o Majority of people who attend city council meetings are the same regular people. <br />Need to increase new and minority voices in these meetings and maybe offering <br />childcare can help this issue. <br />• It would be nice to have transparency from the city on the demographics of survey <br />participants and etc. <br />• One word: accountability <br />o When injustice occurs, there needs to be a swift response and form of actual <br />accountability <br />• Add shuttles to take people to and from city council meetings <br />• More community programs located in communities of color <br />• Provide Free internet and computer for each household <br />o Based on household size, provide laptop <br />o Colma California provided a similar program where they provided free internet <br />access to all households <br />o Information and data not being share with anyone <br />• Bus system to alleviate the lack of transportation <br />• More evenly funded schools <br />• Network to prepare for high school <br />• Give a tour of school <br />• More funding for public schools <br />• Spanish Version test at North Star <br />• Convert money from expensive field trips- to teach spanish speaking kids english <br />• Convert budget to have equality around all schools- so that all students get to the same <br />level <br />• In 9th grade- Biology for all- they all take the same class <br />• City leadership- needs to make schools more equitable <br />• Connect- did a fundraiser- VS North Star did a silent auction <br />• By moving students- Parents are all moving and creating equity it important for funds <br />• Fair opportunity <br />92 <br />
