6.P. - Page 5 of 6 <br />Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival. For the fourth year in a row, Cinequest has partnered with <br />Century 20 Theater to bring their creativity festival to downtown Redwood City in March 2021. <br />Cinequest fuses innovation with the arts to empower great creations and to connect audiences, <br />youth, artists, and innovators with these creations and with each other. In 2021, Cinequest will do <br />more than ever to showcase online film screenings and creative experiences through free <br />streaming services, as well as offering affordable online film & special event rentals. We will work <br />with community partners to identify at -risk youth and low-income families to offer free access. In <br />regards to accessibility for the disabled, they will clearly identify content that is available with <br />subtitles for hearing impaired, and online services provide accessibility for people everywhere. <br />Content in the festival is and always has been diverse, featuring artists from 55 countries. The <br />diversity in language and culture is shown throughout the films presented. <br />Funding Requested: $10,000. Funding Recommended: $4,660. <br />FC Projects, INC. The specific purpose of this Non Profit is to engage the local community through <br />arts education and community projects. FC will work with students, emerging artists and <br />established artists to create art projects locally and nationally. FC Projects, in partnership with the <br />Redwood City Improvement Association, creates art for the Art Kiosk exhibition in the Courthouse <br />Square. Funds received by the Commission will help support participating artists from Redwood <br />City and outreach programs to Redwood City residents and groups. <br />Funding Requested: $10,000. Funding Recommended: $4,000 <br />Fuse Theatre. Fuse Theatre, in collaboration with Dragon Productions Theatre Company, seeks <br />financial support to help maintain and extend its annual Redwood City Play Festival series, Co - <br />EXIST: stories of unlikely connection. Co -EXIST presents stories of timely topics and promotes <br />narratives created by and that include people of color and others from underrepresented <br />populations. Fuse's mission is to create meaningful theatre experiences to expand personal <br />perspectives and connect communities in order to foster civic engagement. Dragon Productions <br />Theatre Company adopted the mission 'to serve as a theatrical hub that fosters an inclusive artistic <br />community for the creation of experiences that are innovative, intimate, empathetic, and accessible <br />and bold.' <br />Funding Requested: $6,000. Funding Recommended: $5,800. <br />Pacific Art League. Pacific Art League strives to advance the expressions, appreciation, and <br />enjoyment of the arts, for all. This grant will be used to immediately launch the Pacific Art League's <br />Virtual Artist -in -Residence Program & Art Demo Event series to the Redwood City community. They <br />will identify and invite six new Virtual Artists -in -Residence to provide quality free online art demo <br />classes for students of all ages through the end of the year for the Redwood City community <br />Funding Requested: $7,500 Funding Recommended: $3,700. <br />Peninsula Symphony. Peninsula Symphony's All -Stars at Home is a new virtual series kicking off <br />on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. In lieu of live concerts in the concert halls, they have enlisted both <br />world class solo artists as well as their very own orchestra musicians to perform from their homes <br />and to "livestream" with our maestro through zoom where "concert and conversation" occurs. This <br />Q&A portion is a wonderful opportunity for audiences to hear directly from these musicians as well <br />as insight from the maestro. <br />Funding Requested: $3,000 Funding Recommended: $2,200. <br />Quinteto Latino. Quinteto Latino (QL) will partner with Redwood City host organization Casa <br />Circulo Cultural (CCC) to execute a musical residency project exposing Latinx youth to classical <br />music and musical expression, as part of QL's broader mission to disrupt racial and economic <br />Page 2 <br />174 <br />
