Particularly in this year <br />of truly horrific and unprecedented fires, we desperately need their aid. And we agreed to increase our <br />taxes in order to provide support for these essential services. Please don't break that trust with our <br />community. These firefighters, even more than the health care workers, are the true heroes of the last few <br />months. We need to support them not cut funding for the Redwood City Fire department. Our lives and <br />homes depend on them. Please, there is no more sacred job for the city council than to keep the <br />community safe and, especially in this area and this fire season, there is no more important instrument of <br />that safety than the firefighters.
