6.B. - Page 5 of 39 <br />agencies, as documented in BAWSCA's Long -Term Reliable Water Supply <br />Strategy Phase II Final Report. <br />California Water Service Company: To identify potential new local water <br />supply opportunities and capital projects that will provide supply reliability to our <br />Bay Area Peninsula customers. <br />City of Redwood City: To identify potential new water supplies, and <br />enhance the quality of recycled water to promote beneficial uses. <br />San Francisco Public Utilities Commission: To identify potential new water <br />supply opportunities to serve existing and new customer demands, including the <br />Cities of San Jose and Santa Clara. <br />6. WHEREAS, the Parties have worked collaboratively since 2016 under a separate <br />agreement, dated November 3, 2016, which was subsequently amended in April 2018 <br />and expired in April 2020, to develop a coordinated plan for potable reuse in the San <br />Francisco Bay Region, known as the Potable Reuse Exploratory Plan ("PREP"), <br />through the PREP Phase 1 Initial Study and PREP Phase 2 Concept Study; and <br />7. WHEREAS, the PREP Phase 1 Initial Study considered potable reuse alternative <br />concepts, including reuse through groundwater replenishment and Reservoir Water <br />Augmentation ("RWA") at the SFPUC's Crystal Spring Reservoir ("CSR") and Cal <br />Water's Bear Gulch Reservoir; and <br />8. WHEREAS, the PREP Phase 2 Concept Study further defined the concept of a RWA <br />project at CSR and included a parallel study that provided a preliminary evaluation of <br />a potable reuse project that augments CSR with purified water; and <br />9. WHEREAS, the Parties recognize additional study is needed to establish the feasibility <br />of the PREP, and SVCW has entered into a contract with a consultant ("Consultant") <br />under which the Consultant will conduct the PREP Phase 3 Feasibility Study, as <br />described in the Consultant Scope of Work developed and approved by the Parties, <br />which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Attachment 1; and <br />10. WHEREAS, SVCW and the Consultant have entered into a separate agreement <br />concerning the Consultant Scope of Work and Consultant's obligations under said <br />contract with respect to its performance of the Consultant Scope of Work ("SVCW- <br />Consultant Agreement"), which is incorporated herein as part of Attachment 1; and <br />11.
