The City Council hereby finds that incorporating the requirements of Mitigation Measure GEO-1 into the Project would substantially lessen the severity of Impact GEO-7aii, such that this potential impact would be less than significant, because this measure requires the Project to provide a final geotechnical report prior to final project design based on additional site investigations, including determination of the presence of expansive soils, as necessary, and implementing geotechnical recommendations for foundation design or other measures to conform to the California Building Code, including retaining a qualified geotechnical engineer during construction so that recommendations can be revised, if necessary, to reduce potential hazards from strong seismic ground shaking.
