b. As the proposed structures exceed 62,000 square feet in area, two <br />separate and approved fire apparatus access roads are required CFC D104.2. <br />c. The width of the required fire apparatus access roads shall be a minimum <br />of 26 feet to accommodate aerial apparatus D105.2. And have an unobstructed vertical <br />clearance of not less than 13 feet 6 inches 503.2.1. <br />d. Fire apparatus access roads shall be designed and engineered to support <br />the imposed loads of fire apparatus (75,000 pounds) and shall be surfaced with concrete <br />or AC only so as to provide all weather driving capabilities 503.2.3. <br />e. At least one of the required access routes for each building shall be <br />located within a minimum of 15 feet and a maximum of 30 feet from the building, and <br />shall be positioned parallel to one entire side of the building as per 2016 CFC D105.3. <br />i. The required setback distance is designed to establish <br />the appropriate climbing angle for the aerial apparatus ladder to the roof of each <br />building. <br />ii. Any proposed street trees shall be of a species that will <br />not impede aerial apparatus ladder access to the roof of each building. <br />iii. Spacing of street trees shall be factored into this <br />consideration based on the expected height and width of the tree foliage. <br />iv. Mature street tree height and width shall be determined <br />utilizing a scientifically supported methodology such as the Urban Forest <br />Ecosystems Institute at Cal -Poly University https.//ufei.calpoly.edu/ <br />74. Street Trees - Any proposed street trees shall be of a species that will not impede aerial apparatus <br />ladder access to the roof of each building. <br />a. Spacing of street trees shall be factored into this consideration based on the expected <br />height and width of the tree foliage. <br />b. Mature street tree height and width shall be determined utilizing a scientifically <br />supported methodology such as the Urban Forest Ecosystems Institute at Cal -Poly <br />University https.-/Iufei.calpoly.edu/ <br />75. Dead -End Fire Apparatus Access Roads in excess of 150 feet in length shall be provided with an <br />approved area for turning around fire apparatus at the end 503.2.5. <br />a. The plans indicate the proposed fire apparatus turn around that includes the garage <br />entrances to Parcel E meets the specifications in Appendix D of the 2019 California <br />Fire Code. <br />76.
