<br />6.3A <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />Mobilization - Full mobilization including all necessary equipment, <br />supplies, and personnel shall be required. All equipment, supplies, and <br />personnel not in the immediate area will be available at minimum delay <br />should emergency conditions arise. Standby service of a crane shall be <br />made available as soon as practical. The crane will have adequate <br />equipment for dislodging floating debris and obstructions. If possible, the <br />boom length of the crane shall be on the order of 44 feet. <br /> <br />Patrollinq and Maintenance - During the time full storm flow conditions <br />prevail, patrolling will be continuous. Appropriate safety precautions shall <br />be taken as needed. The responsibility of the patrols shall include: <br />1. Staff-gage Levels: The water stage height versus time will be recorded <br />at regular intervals. <br />2. Photographing Damage: Photographs shall be made at all locations <br />where damage is occurring or has occurred, where damage has been <br />repaired, where any unusual conditions are or have been encountered. <br />Camera shall be available to the patrol or other personnel. <br />3. Checking slide gate inlet structures: All inlet structures equipped with <br />flap-gates shall be checked for proper operation. <br />4. Dislodging Debris: All major debris accumulations shall be dislodged if <br />channel capacity is reduced or structures endangered. <br />5. Other activities: Any condition endangering any flood control structure <br />shall be corrected as soon as possible <br />6. The operation of the pumps and motors in the pump station shall be <br />monitored at regular intervals. The discharge channel shall be <br />checked for floating debris or obstructions. Any abnormal operating <br />condition shall be reported immediately and a crane shall be mobilized <br />at the discharge channel to dislodge and remove any floating debris or <br />obstructions. <br />Sandbags shall be placed wherever necessary and proper to preserve <br />integrity of levees and other structures. <br /> <br />Reporting - No written reports are necessary at this time. Radio, <br />telephone, and verbal communications will be used if necessary. The <br />Public Works Services Director will be advised of the condition of facilities <br />and all other pertinent information. Detailed notes of all events and <br />operation activities shall be kept during this time to provide a record from <br />which a written report can be prepared later. A written log will be kept <br />including names and locations of all reporting personnel. The Wastewater <br />Management Services Superintendent will maintain contact with the San <br />Mateo Office of Emergency Services and will appraise the City Manager, <br />Public Works Services Director, Police Chief. and Fire Chief of changes in <br />the weather forecast. A permanent update of the forecast will be <br />maintained for Public information purpose when requested. The <br />Wastewater Management Services Superintendent will advise the San <br />Mateo Office of Emergency Services of the status of flood fighting <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />April 2008 <br />
