When cars are <br />parked on both sides of Douglas Avenue, the street is impassable for the street <br />cleaning equipment. <br /> <br />2. Residents have demonstrated a willingness to work with the City to aid the street <br />cleaning effort. Service from the City now matches the level of service provided by <br />the County to residents on the other side of street. <br /> <br />Marshall Street <br />1. Parking restrictions along Marshall Street can help deter leaving disabled or <br />abandoned vehicles on the street (a common complaint from residents and <br />businesses in the area). <br /> <br />2. A cleaner street helps the City and the apartment complexes maintain a clean, <br />pleasing frontage to their properties. <br /> <br />The following considerations should be a part of further discussions to modify or expand <br />the Pilot Program to other streets or street segments: <br /> <br />. Coordination with the Police Department and Public Works Services continues to be <br />critically important to the success of the pilot street cleaning effort <br /> <br />. Review of staffing demands for PD and PWS given potential budget reductions. One <br />equipment operator completes neighborhood and commercial streets cleaning for the <br />entire City <br /> <br />.
