<br />88 <br />Attachment 2 Page 11 <br /> <br />crosswalks, trees and countdown signals for Woodside Road at <br />Middlefield as well as pedestrian improvements on Stambaugh and <br />Charter. These recommendations, along with others, have been <br />incorporated into a grant application for Caltrans "Safe Route to <br />Schools" funding, as well as the Hoover Mobility Project recommended <br />as part of the proposed FY 2009/10 RDA general fund capital budget. <br />c. Studies related to Docktown and options for enhancing the <br />connections between the waterfront neighborhoods and adjacent <br />industrial areas were fu"nded by the Marina Area Planning Study <br />capital project. <br /> <br />FY 2008/09 Housina Accomplishments <br /> <br />1. Affordability Covenants <br />Consistent with the Housing Work Program for FY 2008/09, affordability <br />covenants were approved for market rate, multi-family projects outside of <br />the redevelopment project area. These projects included: Peninsula <br />Park, Canada College, and 885 Woodside Road. <br /> <br />. 2. Bradford Street Project <br />An agreement has been entered into with the State Department of Toxic <br />Substance Control to help resolve the environmental issues on this site. <br />The Agency will contract for a detailed engineering report for the removal <br />action work plan. The tenants have vacated the office building owned by <br />the Agency and the building will be demolished as part of the FY 2009/10 <br />work program. The developer selection processt including the issuance of <br />a Request for Proposals/Qualifications, will proceed in FY 2009/10 once <br />the environmental issues have been resolved. <br /> <br />3. Cedar Street <br />This project for 15 studio units for extremely low-income individuals has <br />obtained its environmental clearancet General Plan and zoning <br />amendments and financing. It is scheduled to break ground in June 09. <br /> <br />4. Habitat for Humanity <br />This project of eight low income ownership units was substantially <br />complete in May 2009. Owners of the seven three-bedroom units are in <br />the process of moving in. A special outreach process is underway for the <br />one wheelchair accessible unit. <br /> <br />5. Other <br />Other accomplishments in the area of affordable housing/blight removal <br />included the acquisition of the Heller Street property and ongoing <br />discussions with both nonprofit and for-profit housing developers <br />regarding various sites (Day's Inn, Mel's Bowl, 333 Main St. and the <br />vacant Dodge property). <br /> <br />8 <br />
