A suitable boom rest shall be provided for use during transport. Boom rest
shall be removable.
The total weight of a standard crane shall not exceed 11,220 lbs. (includes crane,
boom, ASH and subbase).
Capacity: The rated capacity of the crane shall be a minimum of 20,000 lbs. @ 5 feet and
1,500 lbs. @ 50 ft. The capacities shall be obtained with the utilization of a
downhaul weight that is standard equipment. The crane shall have a zero -degree
lifting chart for the full horizontal telescoped boom length.
Outriggers: Shall be a minimum of two (2) front horizontal out and down style outriggers. The
front outriggers shall extend to maximum of 16 feet and retract to a minimum of
94". Front outriggers shall be horizontally mounted, hydraulic in and out, up and
down. "A" Frame outrigger is not acceptable. Two (2) 18" x 18" outrigger pads
shall be included for each side (four total), each housed in a bracket underneath
(doorless drawer) or in another safe, easily accessible location.
Stabilizers: The crane will be provided with rear vertical hydraulic stabilizers mounted behind
the rear tires. They shall be of a box -type construction. The cylinders shall be fully
enclosed to prevent debris from entering the cylinder and have an 8" DIA Steel pad
at the bottom of vertical jack on each side. The stabilizers shall provide adequate
ability to stabilize and level the unit for safe operation. They are to have an 8' span
with 18" vertical travel. Counter weight may be required. Stabilizer gauge controls
shall be included on both sides of operator.
Rotation: The boom shall be capable of being rotated a minimum of 375° in not more than
36 seconds. The rotation system shall consist of a planetary gear box with a spring
applied hydraulically released brake. The brake shall have the ability to slip through
to reduce impact loads on the rotation system. The drive gear shall maintain full
tooth contact with the rotation gear without the necessity of adjustment. Rotational
force is to be no less than 152,633 in. -lbs. with breaking strength no less than
299,000 in. -lbs.
The turret and main frame mounting surface for the bearing shall be machined after
welding. Rotation gear is to be attached to the crane frame by use of high strength
bolts for ease of service. A full circle bolt pattern between the main frame, rotation
bearing and turret shall be used for equal load distribution. The rotation stop shall
provide a "cushioned" or "feathered" stop to prevent shock loading of rotational
components.
Winch: The crane shall be equipped with a boom mounted planetary type winch. A
hydraulic motor with planetary gear reduction will provide "power down" load
Page 17 of 20
191
