Task 4.5. Community Workshops Consultant shall collaborate with City staff to host two community workshops. The first one shall be scheduled around the time of Tasks 2 and 3, and its focus will be on identifying needs, concerns, challenges, barriers, hazards, and other deficiencies, as well as ideas, suggestions, and opportunities for improvements. The second workshop shall be scheduled to align with Tasks 6 and 9, in order to present and receive feedback on the recommended projects, programs, and priority projects. Due to current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the first workshop may be virtual and the second one might be in- person with parallel virtual participation opportunities. City will reserve the venue and will advertise the meeting. Consultant shall develop all necessary materials for before, during, and after the workshops including agendas, presentations, handouts/posters/boards, comment sheets, and summary notes. One Spanish speaker staff from the Consultant team shall be present in the each workshop. Task 4.6. Community Surveys Consultant shall develop two online surveys for the project, tied to and consistent with the material presented at each of the two community workshops (Task 4.5). Surveys shall be launched before each community workshop so workshop participants have the opportunity to complete the surveys with the help of the project team. City will publish the surveys through social media and other communication channels. Task 4.7. Outreach to Disadvantaged Communities Consultant shall host a third workshop (in addition to the two listed under Task 4.5) geared toward the City's historically underrepresented neighborhoods. The workshop will be parallel to the first Task 4.5 workshop: it will take place around the time of Tasks 2 and 3; it will almost certainly be virtual. The focus of this workshop shall be on identifying needs, concerns, challenges, barriers, hazards and other deficiencies in underrepresented neighborhoods, as well as ideas, suggestions and opportunities for improvements.
