Task 5- Safety Needs Assessment <br />Consultant shall assess transportation safety needs in Redwood City and identify high- <br />priority locations for safety improvements. Consultant shall develop a toolbox of candidate <br />countermeasures to address collision factors observed at selected focus areas. The <br />toolbox will also be used as a reference for future project development efforts undertaken <br />by the City. <br />i ask 5.1. Identification of Vision Zero Corridors and Focus Areas <br />Consultant shall identify up to ten Vision Zero Focus Areas within the City based on the <br />collision data and collision factor analyses completed in Task 3, as well as community <br />feedback and evaluations completed as part of other planning efforts. The Vision Zero <br />Focus Areas may include specific transportation corridors or geographic areas. <br />The Focus Areas shall represent locations with collision factors found to correlate with <br />fatal or severe injury collisions. Focus areas with bicycle and pedestrian safety concerns <br />shall be cross-referenced in the definition of bicycle and pedestrian needs in Task 8. <br />Task 5.2. Vision Zero, . _ilbiu_. <br />Consultant shall develop a countermeasure toolbox tailored to the contexts and collision <br />types observed in Redwood City with particular focus on the identified Vision Zero Focus <br />Areas. The countermeasure identification shall be based upon the collision factor analysis <br />results from Task 3. <br />DELIVERABLES: <br />• List of up to ten Vision Zero Focus Areas <br />• Countermeasure toolbox to address primary collision factors at Vision Zero focus <br />areas <br />Task 6- Safety Projects & Programs Development <br />Consultant shall develop a list of prioritized projects, programs, and policies based on the <br />opportunities identified through the safety analyses as well as feedback from City staff, <br />stakeholders, and community. This effort will establish a framework of action items that <br />helps City to move toward and ultimately achieve its Vision Zero goals. <br />Task 6.1.
