<br />Attachment 5 <br /> <br />8A <br />Page 35 <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: September 14,2009 <br /> <br />TO: City Manager <br /> <br />FROM: Public Works Services Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Staff time and associated costs to support pilot tree board, and <br />implications of continuation or termination. <br /> <br />The 18 months of meetings cost approximately $30,000 including staff time and <br />dinner service for 36 meetings. <br /> <br />The pilot tree board had their last official meeting on May 20th where they were <br />thanked by the City Arborist, Maria D'Agostino and staff for their service and <br />efforts. Each board member was given a small token of appreciation and a <br />certificate signed by Maria and myself thanking them for the hours and hard <br />work they put in over the prior (18) months. <br /> <br />We have a list of the tree board's recommendations that are currently being <br />worked on, with the main ones being - revising all tree related ordinances, <br />expanding the Master Tree List and reviewing the companies listed on the Work <br />Verified Tree Care list. There are other recommendations that have a high <br />dollar cost associated with it that we'll revisit in the future. <br /> <br />4 <br />
