Zoning Ordinance amendments related to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) <br />(602) MO 21-057 <br />Community Development and Transportation Director Mark Muenzer introduced <br />the item, and Senior Planner Apollo Rojas gave a presentation. <br />Mayor Howard opened the public hearing. <br />The following members of the public spoke: <br />• Isabella Chu <br />• Ian W <br />• Michael Solorio <br />• Brandon Henriquez <br />• Ryann <br />• Jordan Grimes <br />• Emil <br />Mayor Howard closed the public hearing. <br />Recommendation: <br />Waive first reading, and re -introduce Zoning Ordinance amendments to <br />Accessory Dwelling Unit requirements, retaining specified 2019 ADU Ordinance <br />privacy standards for detached second story ADUs, and applying these <br />regulations as well as maximum height standards to detached ADUs on <br />multifamily lots. <br />CEQA: <br />The adoption of an ordinance to implement State law pertaining to ADUs <br />(Government Code section 65852.2) is a statutory exemption from the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Public Resources Code section <br />21080.17. Implementation of local requirements is not considered a project <br />under CEQA Guidelines Section 15378. The implementation of both height - <br />related standards and additional regulations related to short-term rentals <br />(generally prohibiting), and ordinance effectiveness would be covered under the <br />"common sense exemption" (CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3)) <br />Page 4 of 7 <br />402 <br />
