During the remediation activities, the Consultant shall prepare brief monthly <br />written Progress Reports that describe work completed by the remediation <br />contractor during the previous month and any impediments or problems <br />encountered during the field activities that were different than anticipated, as <br />well as measures taken to resolve those issues. It is estimated no more than <br />four (4) Progress Reports will be necessary. <br />Task 3 — Ongoing Groundwater Monitoring Program <br />Consultant shall complete groundwater monitoring events, as requested by the City and <br />required by the RWQCB, not to exceed eight (8) events total. <br />a. Task 3.1 — Task Management & Field Preparation <br />Consultant shall manage the groundwater monitoring tasks and <br />coordinate with the City and property owners to schedule monitoring <br />events in advance. Consultant shall coordinate with the chemical testing <br />laboratory on sample shipments and analyses and plan the completion of <br />the groundwater monitoring tasks. <br />b. Task 3.2 — Well Gauaina & Groundwater SamDlin <br />Consultant shall measure depth to groundwater and purge and sample <br />water from all accessible monitoring wells (a total of 23 wells). Each <br />monitoring event, Consultant shall: <br />i. Gauge and sample accessible onsite wells and one offsite well <br />installed on City property at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue <br />and Middlefield Road <br />ii. Measure pH, temperature, and electrical conductivity until the <br />measurements are stable <br />iii. Collect a groundwater sample from accessible wells using low -flow <br />sampling procedure with a peristaltic pump and dedicated tubing <br />iv. Submit samples to a California certified analytical laboratory for <br />analysis of selected halogenated volatile organic compounds <br />(HVOCs) by EPA Method 8260B, as well as for selected <br />bioremediation parameters, as needed <br />V. Place purge water in 55 -gallon drums and coordinate proper <br />disposal <br />C. Task 3.3 - Chemical Analvsis of Groundwater Samples <br />REV: 05-07-2021 MI <br />Consultant shall submit to a State -certified chemical testing laboratory <br />under chain -of -custody for analysis of a select list of HVOCs that include: <br />PCE; TCE; cis-1,2-DCE; trans-1,2-DCE; 1,1-DCE; and vinyl chloride, by <br />EPA Method 8260B. For the groundwater monitoring event preceding the <br />start of injection remediation activities, as requested and approved by the <br />City, Consultant may also perform additional chemical analyses on <br />several selected groundwater samples for the purpose of establishing <br />ATTY/AGR.2021.102/Groundwater and Environmental Services, Inc.
