During the remediation activities, the Consultant shall prepare brief monthly
written Progress Reports that describe work completed by the remediation
contractor during the previous month and any impediments or problems
encountered during the field activities that were different than anticipated, as
well as measures taken to resolve those issues. It is estimated no more than
four (4) Progress Reports will be necessary.
Task 3 — Ongoing Groundwater Monitoring Program
Consultant shall complete groundwater monitoring events, as requested by the City and
required by the RWQCB, not to exceed eight (8) events total.
a. Task 3.1 — Task Management & Field Preparation
Consultant shall manage the groundwater monitoring tasks and
coordinate with the City and property owners to schedule monitoring
events in advance. Consultant shall coordinate with the chemical testing
laboratory on sample shipments and analyses and plan the completion of
the groundwater monitoring tasks.
b. Task 3.2 — Well Gauaina & Groundwater SamDlin
Consultant shall measure depth to groundwater and purge and sample
water from all accessible monitoring wells (a total of 23 wells). Each
monitoring event, Consultant shall:
i. Gauge and sample accessible onsite wells and one offsite well
installed on City property at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue
and Middlefield Road
ii. Measure pH, temperature, and electrical conductivity until the
measurements are stable
iii. Collect a groundwater sample from accessible wells using low -flow
sampling procedure with a peristaltic pump and dedicated tubing
iv. Submit samples to a California certified analytical laboratory for
analysis of selected halogenated volatile organic compounds
(HVOCs) by EPA Method 8260B, as well as for selected
bioremediation parameters, as needed
V. Place purge water in 55 -gallon drums and coordinate proper
disposal
C. Task 3.3 - Chemical Analvsis of Groundwater Samples
REV: 05-07-2021 MI
Consultant shall submit to a State -certified chemical testing laboratory
under chain -of -custody for analysis of a select list of HVOCs that include:
PCE; TCE; cis-1,2-DCE; trans-1,2-DCE; 1,1-DCE; and vinyl chloride, by
EPA Method 8260B. For the groundwater monitoring event preceding the
start of injection remediation activities, as requested and approved by the
City, Consultant may also perform additional chemical analyses on
several selected groundwater samples for the purpose of establishing
ATTY/AGR.2021.102/Groundwater and Environmental Services, Inc.
