25 <br /> <br />6. Dispose of dead wildlife or domestic dead animals that are brought to the shelter. If a <br />commercial wildlife removal or pest company wants to dispose of dead animals, they will <br />have to enter into a contract with the County to pay for disposal fees. <br />7. If Contractor is unable to safely remove a dead animal, Contractor will hire a qualified <br />third-party using contract funds to remove the dead animal. <br />J. Quarantine of animals <br />Contractor will: <br />1. Quarantine biting animals and enforce State Codes, California Rabies Compendium, <br />and County guidelines relating to rabies control. This includes providing state -mandated <br />rabies clinics. <br />2. Work with San Mateo County Health to jointly determine when an in-home bite <br />quarantine is appropriate and will be made available. <br />K. Dispatch <br />Contractor will: <br />1. Provide radio dispatching to the field between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm on <br />Monday through Friday and 8:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays. <br />2. County shall provide radio dispatching to Contractor between the hours of 6:00pm and <br />8:00am Monday through Friday and 5:00pm and 8:00am Saturday, Sunday, and <br />Holidays. The Contractor will pay the annual cost for County Radio Dispatch using funds <br />paid to Contractor pursuant to this Agreement. <br />3. Have a system for phone calls to roll to another person in order to answer calls from <br />the residents for the County. If there is more than one (1) Dispatcher on shift, the phone <br />lines will be set up so the calls coming in roll between the multiple phones. <br />4. Have a line for law enforcement, fire, and other government officials to call on at all <br />times when the contractors dispatch is open if they need service from the Contractor. <br />5. County shall maintain County-owned radio equipment as denoted in Attachment M <br />County-Owned Radio Equipment. <br /> <br />V. VETERINARY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />A. Provide veterinary care for animals <br />Contractor will: <br />1. Make medical decisions that balance both the best interest of the individual animals <br />requiring treatment and the County Shelter population. <br />2. Ensure that the County Shelter medical services include, but are not limited to: animal <br />exams, vaccinations, microchipping, dispensation of medications, disease prevention, <br />surgeries (e.g. enucleations, amputations and wound repairs), emergency care of injured <br />animals, euthanasia and coordination with other local, state and national agencies. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 6C491BB9-BC86-4B49-A708-70DFC750A9BD
