Box 391
Redwood City, California 94064
ievora@redwoodcitv.ora

SUBJECT: Third Revised Proposal for Geotchnical Engineering
Services for the Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project in Redwood City,
California.

Dear Mr. Evora:

In response to your request, Kleinfelder is pleased to submit this revised proposal for
geotechnical engineering services for the sanitary sewer replacement project in Redwood
City, California. The purpose of our study will be to explore and evaluate site subsurface
conditions in order to provide recommendations related to the geotechnical aspects of the
proposed project. The proposal is based on our phone conversation August 17, 2009, your
proposed boring location plan emailed to us on July 1, 2009; our experiences with similar
projects; and a site visit. Included in this proposal are a brief summary of our understanding
of the project, the scope of services we are providing, and an estimate of our fees and
schedule. This proposal is a revision to our July 8, 2009 proposal to incorporate two
additional borings on Manzanita Street.

Kleinfelder is committed to providing quality service to our clients, commensurate with their
wants, needs, and desired level of risk. If a portion of this proposal does not meet your
needs, or if those needs have changed, Kleinfelder stands ready to consider appropriate
modifications, subject to the standards of care to which we adhere as professionals.
Modifications such as changes in scope, methodology, scheduling, and contract terms and
conditions may result in changes to the risks assumed by the client, as well as adjustments
to our fees.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The proposed project includes the bore and jack construction under the Joint Powers Board
(JBP) right-of-way on Spruce Street and Pine Street and either pipe bursting or open trench
construction within the Union Pacific Railroad right of way on Chestnut Avenue.

01201PROP (SJ09P133) ct Page 1 of7
Copyright 2009 Kleinfelder

KLEINFELDER 2011 N.
