Engineering Analysis

Following our subsurface explorations and laboratory testing, our engineers will analyze the
data gathered in order to provide recommendations for earthwork and asphalt design. We
will provide geotechnical design parameters for use in design of the utility replacements.

Report Preparation

Results of our subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, and engineering analyses will be
summarized in a draft report containing the following:

· A description of the proposed project

· A description of the surface and subsurface site conditions encountered during
our site reconnaissance and field explorations

· Bore and jack casing design recommendations.

· An appendix that will include a summary of the field investigation and laboratory
testing programs.

· A brief discussion of the corrosion potential of the near-surface soils
encountered during our field exploration based on laboratory corrosivity tests
performed (NOTE: Kleinfelder does not practice corrosion engineering and,
therefore, detailed analysis of corrosion test results is not included in this
proposal).

Upon receipt of review comments from the City of Redwood City, a final report will be
prepared. This proposal is based upon the incorporation of one cycle of review comments
into the final report.

The need for meetings is difficult to forecast and are not included in this proposal. If
meetings are necessary, they will be considered beyond the scope of services outlined
herein and will be billed on a time-and-materials basis.

Additional Services

Our geotechnical investigation is only a part of the geotechnical/materials testing services
that are necessary during design and construction of the project. Subsequent services that
we offer include:

· Review of the project plans and specifications. We recommend this task be
performed as a means of verifying the recommendations contained in our
geotechnical investigation report for the site are consistent with the requirements of
the project as actually designed.

· Construction observation and testing during site development should also be
provided by Kleinfelder as a continuation of our design services on this project.

To help the project proceed in an orderly manner and to protect the City of Redwood City's
investment in this project, we recommend Kleinfelder provide the services described above.

01201 PROP (SJ09P133) ct Page 4 of 7
Copyright 2009 Kleinfelder

KLEINFELDER 2011 N.
