REV: 10-05-21 RL <br />Once the potable water meter is secured and shutoff, the Specialist will <br />depressurize the system to at least 30 percent of recycled water line pressure <br />The Specialist will allow the recorders to run for a minimum of two hours (or as <br />approved by the City) <br />At the end of the shutdown test, the Specialist shall re-establish domestic (potable) <br />line pressure while the digital pressure recorders are running to obtain the final <br />pressure spike before completing the potable phase shutdown test and beginning <br />the recycled water phase of the shutdown test <br />Recycled Water Pressure Cross Connection Shutdown Test <br />A Specialist shall conduct the recycled water cross-connection shutdown test as follows: <br />On all recycled water meters, the Specialist will install digital pressure recorders <br />on all reduced pressure principal backflow prevention assemblies or at a quick <br />coupler valve <br />The Specialist shall verify that the recorders are operating properly and allowed to <br />track under full pressure for at least 10 minutes before isolating and depressurizing <br />the system <br />Once the recycled water meter is secured and shut off, the Specialist will <br />depressurize the system to at least 30 percent of the potable line pressure <br />The Specialist will allow the digital pressure recorders to run for a minimum of two <br />hours (or as approved by the City) with the potable water system fully pressurized <br />At the end of the shutdown test, the Specialist shall re-establish irrigation <br />(recycled) line pressure while the digital pressure recorders are running to obtain <br />the final pressure spike before completing the shutdown test <br />Specialist shall submit electronically in PDF format to the City cross-connection tests <br />results charts within two days of the cross-connection test. <br />Task 5 - Perform or represent the City during standard cross connection tests <br />If directed by the Recycled Water Superintendent or their designee, a Specialist shall <br />conduct or represent the City during a standard cross-connection shutdown test. <br />Specialist shall either perform or ensure the following items are performed: <br />The pressurization of the potable water system and de-pressurization of the <br />irrigation water system <br />The flow verification from the potable water outlets and the absence of flow from <br />the irrigation water system outlets <br />The pressurization of the irrigation water system and de-pressurization of the <br />potable water system <br />The flow verification from the irrigation water outlets and the absence of flow from <br />the potable water system outlets <br />Completion of a cross-connection test form <br />If Specialist represents the City during the test, Specialist shall review the customer’s <br />cross-connection test form for accuracy and completeness and then submit it <br />electronically in PDF format to the City within one day from receipt of the form. <br />ATTY/AGR.2021.253/West Yost & Associates, Inc.
