REV: 10-18-2021 VR
Task Deliverable(s):
Memorandum: Potential Grant Opportunities with attached matrix list of potential grant opportunities,
that will become a Plan appendix
Memorandum: Summary of Community Leader Perspective Meetings
Task 2: Select Critical Funding Opportunities to Target
Task Outcome:
Prioritized list (subset of the Task 1 matrix) of critical funding opportunities with application
deadlines, funding request information, proposed size of the funding request and estimated cost
to complete the application package(s).
Sub Task A: Grant Selection Workshop
Once the potential grants have been identified under Task 1 and research concluded, the Consultant will work
to determine which subset of those grant opportunities are the most likely to be successful and considered
critical funding opportunities. The Task 2 Grant Selection Workshop will be conducted virtually with key City
staff to determine which grants or other strategies, based upon what has been learned in Task 1, afford the
greatest likelihood of success.
Consultant will arrange the Task 2 Grant Selection Workshop in collaboration with the City during the first of
three (3) every other week virtual Leadership Team status meetings, which will be 90 minutes while the others
will remain 30-minutes in length.
The virtual 90-minute Grant Selection Workshop will seek to accomplish the following objectives:
Determine which grants are the best fit based upon scope and typical grant size;
Determine which grants provide sufficient time to develop a quality application and generate
support for the Project;
Determine what if any additional local funding can be identified;
Develop preliminary scope and cost estimates to apply for each target;
Prioritize the opportunities to identify the grants to target; and
Determine the amount of funds to request for each of the target grants.
Sub Task B: Prioritized List of Critical Opportunities
The outcomes from the Grant Selection Workshop will be captured in a prioritized version of the Task 1 list.
Additional columns will be added to the matrix to record the input and recommendations developed during the
Task 2 Workshop, application target date, proposed size of the funding request, and estimated cost to complete
the application package.
Sub Task C: Presentation of List to City
The Prioritized List from Sub Task B will be presented in a 90-minute virtual meeting to the City’s Oversight Team
for review, discussion and agreement on the grants to be pursued. Following this call, the Consultant will
produce a written message for the City Manager’s monthly Council Connection newsletter, and depending upon
Leadership Team’s input, provide a status report to SMCTA staff on the progress of the Plan development.
Task Deliverable(s):
Memorandum: Critical Funding Opportunities with attached updated matrix list of prioritized grant
opportunities
Presentation to City Oversight Team
ATTY/AGR.2021.265/Gray Bowen Scott (Page 13 of 19)
