REV: 12-22-21 JB <br />EXHIBIT “A” <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE <br />A. PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The City of Redwood City seeks to rehabilitate the two (2) sanitary sewer pump stations <br />located at the Redwood Shores Area namely: P.S. No. 8 and P.S. No. 9 in order to <br />improve the condition, capacity, criticality, and reliability of the wastewater services. This <br />project involves the engineering and construction services by a qualified engineering <br />consulting firm. The Consultant will prepare plans and specifications, cost estimates, <br />contract documents for bidding, provide bid support and construction services and <br />prepare the final as-built record drawings for the Sanitary Sewer Pump Station <br />Improvement Project (P.S. No. 8 and P.S. No. 9). <br />B. SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS <br />The following are detailed scope of design improvements for the existing sanitary sewer <br />pump stations No. 8 and No. 9. The design work is described below, and the specific <br />tasks Consultant shall perform are identified in the Scope of Services section. <br />Wet-Well <br />1.The well internal surface will be refurbished for corrosion and leakage protection <br />using the latest technology based coating and lining material. <br />2.Any improvements on the walls and floor will be incorporated to with stand the <br />weight of new pumps, pipe supports and ductile discharge piping. <br />3.Old hatch and grate in the wet well will be removed and replaced with new hatch <br />and safety grate system built in the new top slab. <br />4.An 8-inch prefabricated concrete top slab with built-in access hatch and fall <br />protection grating system and a mounting for crane will be included. <br />Pumping Equipment <br />1.Existing submersible pumps will be replaced with suitably sized new VFD driven <br />FLYGT submersible pumps, complete with wet well discharge pipe assembly, <br />support anchors, stainless steel ladder, hardware and accessories. <br />2.New pump bottom supports (90-degree bends) will be designed and resized with <br />new anchor bolts. <br />3.Existing wet well guide rails and existing level floats and associated hardware, <br />cables, and other component will be replaced with new units. <br />Underground Vault <br />1.The existing two vaults, downstream of the wet well will be demolished and <br />replaced with single prefabricated vault equipped with access hatches, fall <br />protection grating and access ladders.
