Task 2: Data Collection <br />Task 2.1: Data Request and Compilation <br />Consultant shall prepare a comprehensive data request memo that outlines the needed <br />spatial data and planning information for the project. Anticipated data includes roadways <br />and related characteristics (such as speed, number of lanes, and volume), pedestrian <br />infrastructure (including sidewalks, crosswalks, and signal locations, including recent <br />improvements), school locations, crossing guard locations, school enrollment boundaries, <br />and existing suggested routes to school. This data request will also include all necessary <br />base map elements, such as parks, community centers, and libraries. If data is unavailable, <br />Consultant shall coordinate with the project team to identify solutions for missing <br />datasets. This task does not include creation of any new data. However, Consultant shall <br />review requested data against existing data collected as part of previous suggest route <br />mapping efforts for this community. <br />Task 2.2 Draft Suggested Route Development <br />Consultant shall draft suggested routes for each of the 8 identified schools, including <br />elementary schools. <br />The list of schools are: <br />1. Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School <br />2. McKinley Institute of Technology (MIT) and North Star Academy <br />3. Clifford School <br />4. Garfield School <br />5. Hoover School <br />6. Roy Cloud School <br />7. Kennedy Middle School <br />8. Taft School <br />Routes will specify the associated roadway or path and other characteristics determined in Task <br />1.2, including preferred crossing locations and crossing guard locations. Draft routes will be <br />developed in ArcGIS and provided for City review. <br />One map will be completed for City review prior to production of remaining maps; this process <br />will provide an opportunity to respond to any universal template edits that will improve <br />efficiency of developing remaining maps. <br />This task assumes one round of City review, including school district representatives as <br />necessary. Consultant shall revise suggested routes in Task 2.4. <br />Page 4of 6
