Contractor shall service <br />manholes in the presence of SMCMVCD’s Vector Control Specialist or their <br />representative. <br />All tools, labor, materials and equipment necessary to carry out this program are to be <br />provided by the Contractor. No alteration or substitution of materials is permissible <br />without the express written authority of SMCMVCD. <br />Insecticide: Contractor will use BorActin (active ingredient: Orthoboric acid <br />99%) as the insecticide. The insecticide will be used in the form of a spray. <br />Contractor shall use materials and equipment as specified by the <br />manufacturer’s labeling. <br />The Public Works Director or designee and/or SMCMVCD reserve the right <br />to change the insecticide at any time to comply with new regulations or other <br />factors. Notice will be given to Contractor in a reasonable amount of time <br />specifying what needs to be changed. <br />Method of Pesticide Application: Contractor will service manholes in the <br />presence of SMCMVCD’s Vector Control Specialist or his/her <br />representative. Contractor shall notify SMCMVCD’s Vector Control <br />Specialist to schedule the event at least two (2) weeks prior to application. <br /> Contractor will apply a band of insecticide to the vertical wall of the sewer <br />manhole shaft two (2) feet wide and six (6) inches down from the lip of the <br />manhole. For the Roach Tablets, 12 tablets will be placed per manhole on <br />the manhole shelf. <br /> Contractor will apply insecticide in accordance with the manufacturer’s <br />labeling.
