REV: 3-24-2023 RL <br />Task 3 – Consulting <br />3.1. Bidding Phase <br />Consultant shall assist the City during the construction bidding phase as follows: <br />• Respond to contractor questions. Consultant shall assist the City in responding <br />to contractors’ questions and requests for clarification of the design and/or <br />construction documents. <br />• Prepare Addenda. Consultant shall prepare up to two (2) addenda, if needed, to <br />clarify or revise the contract document. <br />3.2. Construction Support <br />Consultant shall provide the following as part of the construction support sub-task: <br />• Response to requests for information (RFIs). Consultant shall provide <br />clarifications, as required, of construction documents and respond to contractor <br />RFIs. <br />• Bid Submittal Review. Consultant shall review bid submittals and provide <br />recommendations to City staff. <br />• Unforeseen Conditions Direction. Consultant shall provide the Public Works <br />Services Director or designee with recommendations for addressing any <br />unforeseen conditions that are encountered during construction. Consultant shall <br />conduct up to three (3) site visits as required. <br />• Change Orders Evaluation. Consultant shall assist the City to evaluate and <br />respond to contract change orders requests or claims for additional compensation <br />pertaining to design elements that may arise. <br />• Progress Meetings. Consultant shall attend construction progress meetings, as <br />required. <br />• Final Site Walk. Consultant shall conduct a final site walk with City and Contractor <br />and prepare a punch list of deficiencies for the Contractor. <br />3.3. Record Drawings <br />Consultant shall prepare the digital record drawings using the Contractor’s redline <br />and include any design changes based on change orders and changed site <br />conditions encountered. <br />ATTY/AGR.2023.062/BKF Engineers (Redwood Shores Isolation Valve) (Page 15 of 17)
