REV: 03-10-23 JB <br />responsible for ensuring that all work is built to the standards defined by the contract <br />documents. Services could include, but are not limited to the following activities: <br />A. Project Management. Serve as the City’s representative on a variety projects. <br />Support services will be performed independently and with minimal direction. Other <br />consultant staff supervised by the lead engineer may be used to complete <br />assigned work efficiently and expeditiously. Typical services to be provided <br />include: <br />p) Perform initial design assessments, alternatives analysis, utility conflict <br />analysis and preliminary design services. Investigate existing conditions, <br />review records and engineering data; <br />q) Manage municipal public works projects from the preliminary design stages <br />through the completion of construction. Attend meetings, prepare minutes <br />and other forms of correspondence, perform plan checking, prepare and <br />review specifications and contract documents, coordinate with project <br />stakeholders and outside agencies, perform constructability reviews, <br />manage the bidding and project award process, provide design support <br />during construction in the form of responses to Requests for Information <br />(“RFIs”), evaluation of submittals and review of progress payments; <br />r) Develop plans and specifications through final design and preparation of bid <br />package; <br />s) Process plans and specifications through other agencies for review and <br />approvals corresponding to special funding programs and/or permits; <br />t) Participate in the technical review and updating of engineering standard <br />plans, details, specifications best practices and/or standard policies; <br />u) Review and comment on infrastructure projects associated with <br />development activity; <br />v) Draft grant applications; <br />w)Provide outreach support through the production of staff reports, exhibits, <br />drawings, PowerPoint presentations, etc.; <br />x) Perform other project-related duties as required. <br /> <br />B. Design: Develop plans and specifications through final design and preparation of <br />bid package <br />a) Perform initial site assessments including existing site plans, utility conflict <br />analysis, arborist reports, engineering data or other documents as required <br />b) Develop Initial Design (50% Design Submittal): This initial design will be used <br />as the basis for the development of the Final Design. The tasks include, but <br />are not limited to, the following: <br />a. Develop 50% Design Submittal which shall include, but not limited <br />to, demolition plan, site grading and piping plan, general and <br />construction notes, construction phasing options, construction <br />details, outline technical specifications, possible staging areas, <br />temporary construction easements, and estimate of construction <br />costs.
