<br />ATTY/RESO.0046/PC RESO RECOMMENDING ZONING TEXT & MAP AMENDMENTS – EXHIBIT A <br />REV: 06-02-23 JB <br />Page 28 of 66 <br /> <br />10.1 - Purpose. <br />To stabilize and maintain the residential character of the district for high-density apartments <br />with a minimum of cooperatively used outdoor space and a minimum of individual service <br />facilities. <br />This district is intended for medium to large scale residential densities, as permitted in the <br />General Plan. Dwelling types include small lot single-unit development, bungalow courts, front <br />or rear loaded townhomes, multi-unit buildings, high density apartments, and accessory <br />dwelling units. This district also allows for complementary uses such as child care, other care <br />facilities, park and recreation facilities, complementary smaller commercial uses, and civic and <br />institutional uses such as schools and places for community assembly. <br /> <br />10.2 - Use Regulations <br /> <br />See Article 4.2 (Use Regulations in Residential Zoning Districts) for Use Regulations in the R-5 <br />Zoning District. <br /> <br /> <br />10.2 Permitted Uses. <br />The following structures and uses are permitted in the R-5 District: <br />A. Single-family dwellings; <br />B. Two (2)-family (duplex) dwellings; <br />C. Multiple dwellings; <br />D. Accessory dwelling, subject also to the definition set forth in Article 2 and the <br />provisions of Article 37. <br /> <br />10.3 Accessory Uses. <br />The following structures and uses are permitted in the R-5 District when accessory to and <br />constructed or commenced concurrently with or subsequent to uses permitted under Sections <br />10.2 and 10.4: <br />A. Home occupations; <br />B. Other accessory uses and structures customarily appurtenant to a permitted use; <br />C. Family child care homes, as set forth in Article 39; <br />D. Child care centers in conjunction with public or quasi-public uses. <br /> <br />10.4 Conditional Uses. <br />The following structures and uses are permitted in an R-5 District subject to first securing a <br />Use Permit therefor: <br />A. Public or quasi-public uses, except corporation yards, storage or repair yards, or <br />warehouses; <br />B. Social halls, clubs, lodges, and fraternities;
