REV: 11-15-23 SK
community engagement strategies to inform and obtain input as well as identify target
audiences.
»Education and Outreach Materials: Consultant will prepare outreach materials and
collateral in both printed and digital formats and in both English and Spanish languages
with public-friendly visuals that help explain the project and the process to reach the
project outcomes. Consultant will include the following in some of these materials: a
project fact sheet, webpages, community meeting flyers/mailers, comment cards,
display boards/exhibits, and PowerPoint presentations.
»Public Surveys: Consultant will develop two (2) rounds of online surveys to solicit public
input on safety issues and concerns in the project area and to gain feedback on design
alternatives as project phases progress. Consultant may use Social Pinpoint, an online
map survey tool that utilizes the same survey logic and dynamic answer format available
on the standard survey platforms combined with interactive mapping and location-
specific data collection capabilities.
»Community Outreach Meetings: Consultant will plan, coordinate, and attend up to three
(3) Community Outreach meetings which will be scheduled at strategic junctures of the
project to solicit feedback from the public.
»Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) Meetings: Consultant will prepare materials
for two (2) TAC meetings to allow for ample discussion of the technical components of
the project, the public outreach process and feedback received, and the geometric
designs while allowing for an opportunity to respond to any Commission or Council
member questions or comments.
»Pop-Ups: As an additional recommended outreach activity, City may ask Consultant to
conduct up to two (2) pop-up events within the project corridors. Pop-ups allow the
project team to meet residents where they are as opposed to asking them to get actively
involved in the project.
Task 4 – Develop Design Concepts
Consultant will develop up to two (2) Concept Plans for Broadway Avenue. The concept design
plans must show the proposed design layouts for pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements,
including potential road dieting, bulb-outs, and bikeway improvements. The Concept Plans must
consider potential stormwater implications. The Concept Plans will be used for community
outreach and may be iterated. Up to two (2) rounds of City comments prior to final concept plans
are anticipated.
This task also assumes a design concept exhibit for Vera Avenue based on the quick-build plans
for discussion at Community Outreach meeting.
ATTY/AGR.2023.270/Kimlet Horn (Access to Downtown Bikeways) (Page 13 of 16)
