REV: 11-15-23 SK
Project Assumptions
The following project assumptions and tasks are not part of the cost estimates:
General:
Topographic survey and geotechnical services subconsultant services have been
estimated for the Project based on previous similar projects. These services will be
needed prior the development of the 65% PS&E to inform the design.
Landscape services are also excluded from this Scope of work and may be provided as an
additional service.
City will lead coordination with SamTrans, Fire Department and other authorities and
jurisdictions.
It is assumed that both Vera Avenue and Broadway improvements will not significantly
alter existing drainage patterns. The element/treatment used for improvements shall
include cut-outs to maintain drainage or new catch basins with underground piping
connecting to existing flow lines and inlets. As such, design of drainage infrastructure is
anticipated to be minimal.
It is assumed the entire work is within the public right-of-way.
It is assumed that tree removal will be coordinated with the City Arborist if necessary.
Bid support and Construction Phase services are not included in this scope of work.
Vera Avenue:
Based on the quick-build design, the scope of the Project is for intersection bulb-outs at
Alameda de las Pulgas, El Camino Real, and Hudson Street. There is an intent to improve
six (6) intersections with traffic circles and pedestrian crossing facilities for ADA
compliance as shown in the quick-build plans. Other intersections and curb ramps along
Vera Avenue within this corridor are not anticipated to be disturbed. Minimal
modifications to the implemented quick build plans are assumed at this point.
The improvements for Vera Avenue will not trigger the need for Green Infrastructure
based on the latest C.3 requirements (MS4 Stormwater).
Apart from Stormwater improvements, minimal impacts to other existing utilities are
anticipated as part of this scope of work.
Traffic signal design will not be required.
Significant repaving is not anticipated as part of this scope of work, but rather slurry seal
or grind/overlay treatment.
No additional traffic study is required at this point.
Broadway Avenue:
The scope and fee for Broadway Avenue assumes a dedicated bikeway, road diet, and
curb bulb-out improvements for the majority of the 3200 linear feet section along
Broadway Avenue between Walnut Street and Woodside Road. This includes ADA
improvements as well as traffic signal modifications.
ATTY/AGR.2023.270/Kimlet Horn (Access to Downtown Bikeways) (Page 15 of 16)
