REV: 01-17-24 MI <br />paid for by the Consultant: <br />8.Consultant shall pay an $800 deposit to Cash Collections at City Hall, 1017 <br />Middlefield Road, for the construction meter. The receipt of payment shall be taken <br />to the City's Public Works Department 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, to pick up the <br />construction meter. Monthly charges will be assessed based on current commercial <br />water rates and will include the monthly service charge for a 3” commercial <br />construction meter in addition to metered water usage. <br />9.The Consultant shall remove all sludge, dirt, sand, rocks, roots, grease and other <br />solid or semisolid material resulting from the cleaning operation at the downstream <br />manhole of the section being cleaned. Procedure for removing roots may include the <br />use of mechanical equipment such as rodding machines and bucket machines using <br />root cutters and porcupines. Passing material from manhole section to manhole <br />section, which could cause line stoppages, accumulations of sand in wet wells, or <br />damage pumping equipment, shall not be permitted. Chemical root treatment shall <br />not be used by the Consultant. <br />10.The Consultant shall be responsible for disposing of all solids or semisolids resulting <br />from the cleaning operations at a suitable sanitary landfill site as defined by <br />California Code of Regulations. Under no circumstances will the Consultant be <br />allowed to accumulate debris on-site or dispose of material into the sanitary sewer <br />system. <br />11. If the Consultant encounters a surcharging manhole (flow exceeds the diameter of <br />the sewer pipe), Consultant shall clear the blockage and shall immediately notify the <br />City’s Public Works Services (PWS) Department at 650-780-7464 and provide <br />information on the cause of the blockage once completed. <br />12.Consultant shall make every effort to prevent their operations from causing a <br />stoppage or overflow. In the event of a stoppage or overflow, Consultant shall <br />immediately notify the City’s PWS Department at 650-780-7464. Consultant shall <br />remove the stoppage and contain and mitigate any overflow. Overflows shall be <br />mitigated to the City's standards including property damage overflows that shall <br />require cleaning and restoration. All costs for damage from overflows caused by <br />Consultant’s work are the responsibility of the Consultant. <br />13.The Consultant shall use a 180-degree rotating-head color camera for pipe sizes 6- <br />inch or larger in diameter. The color camera shall be operable under 100 percent <br />humidity conditions in the sewer. The center of the camera lens shall be at or above <br />the spring line of the sewer pipe being inspected. The camera and ancillary <br />equipment shall not block the sewage flow at any time. In cases where it will not be <br />possible to remove a trapped camera by excavation of a pipeline, a tag line shall be <br />attached to each end of the camera to allow the camera to be pulled out from either <br />ATTY/AGR.2024.007/APS Environmental, Inc.
