REV: 04-11-24 VR
Development method

Developing child-focused applications requires a methodical prototyping approach
considering usability, safety, and engagement. This scope of work outlines a concise
methodology for the prototyping phase, user testing, and application stress testing, with
acknowledgment of potential performance risks due to the absence of final hardware.
Consultant will highlight and discuss with City key dates aligned with the project program
and stage deliverables. Each stage will trigger its own set of deliverables, approvals, and
billing cycles, described below.

Consultant will implement an inclusive design process, using the initial stages (Initial
Concept and Initial Design Development) as both check-ins and formal feedback sessions
to deliver on a cohesive proposal. Signoff at the end of Final Concept and Final Design
Development are required before moving on to the next stage. Before being able to move
into Final Design Development, full scope of content, produced by City, is required. Final
Design Development will be followed by testing and handover before a certificate of
completion is issued.

Consultant will do each of the following:

PROTOTYPING PHASE

Requirements Gathering:

• Collaborate with City to develop age-appropriate content and define engaging
features.

Low-Fidelity Prototypes:

• Create wireframes for basic structure and navigation.

• Obtain early feedback on intuitiveness from child testers.

High-Fidelity Prototypes:

• Develop interactive prototypes with detailed design elements.

• Implement basic functionality for key user interactions.

• Include child-friendly aesthetics and animations.

USER TESTING PHASE

Recruitment of Child Testers:

• Ensure parental consent and establish secure testing environments.
ATTY/AGR.2024.048/Formula D_ (Redwood Shores Electronic Interactives) (Page 13 of 41)
