PARKING ZONES <br />C) Parking Zone Transit District <br />• Includes parcels and portions of parcels as designated on the Parking Zones Map. <br />2.6.2 PARKING PROVISION <br />D) Bicycle Parking <br />1. Standards <br />a. One (1) bicycle parking space shall be provided for each 5 automobile parking <br />spaces provided. <br />b. Within the Transit District, the following bicycle parking space requirements shall <br />apply: <br /> Residential: 1 space per dwelling unit <br /> Nonresidential: 1 space per 2,000 sq. ft. of gross floor area <br /> Bike parking and associated amenities, such as showers for employees, <br />shall be required as TDM measures. <br /> 20% of required spaces shall be for short-term bicycle parking. <br /> 80% of required spaces shall be for long-term bicycle parking. <br />c. With the exception of Office, General Residential, and Specialized Residential use <br />groups, existing permanent public bike parking located within 100’ of the project <br />site may be counted toward the fulfillment of the bicycle parking requirement, <br />subject to the approval of the Planning Manager/Designee. <br />2. Guidelines <br />a. For Office, General Residential, and Specialized Residential use group, the <br />following guidelines will apply: <br /> Bicycle parking should may be provided in sheltered, secured facilities <br />(bike room) or bike racks located on the project site or in bike racks on the <br />public sidewalk and not on the public right-of-way. <br /> Sheltered bike parking should have direct access to the public right-of-way <br />or sidewalk/walkway. <br />Page 12 of 45
