The animal shall <br />be allowed to leave the area on its own and shall not be <br />handled. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MM BIO-1.17: Planting of High Tide Refugial Habitat. <br />Following project grading, 0.3 acre of habitat within the <br />muted tidal drainage ditch shall be planted with California <br />native plants. Existing conditions within this area provide <br />0.4 acre of relatively low-quality habitat for salt marsh <br />harvest mice and salt marsh wandering shrews, <br />consisting of nonnative ruderal grasses and weeds that <br />are maintained by mowing. To ensure that habitat <br />conditions following project construction provide <br />equivalent or better functions and values compared to <br />existing conditions, the project shall implement the <br />following measures: <br />maintenance plan. <br />Following <br />construction, the 0.3- <br />acre area below the <br />top of bank will be <br />planted with low- <br />growing, non-woody <br />California native <br />grasses and forbs at <br />a density of 100 <br />percent cover.
