City of Redwood City <br />Grant Agreement #SPPD24100 <br />Exhibit A <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />The California Budget Act of 2023, Assembly Bill 102, Chapter 38, section 19.567 (g)(9) <br />appropriates $200,000.00 for Redwood City Together for support of the PACE youth <br />program. <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City will serve as the Fiscal Sponsor to the sponsored organization, <br />Redwood City Together. <br /> <br />Under section 19.567, subdivision (a)(5), GO-LUCI may provide advance payments of the <br />grant funds from this provision. <br /> <br />6. Objectives <br /> <br />The Fiscal Sponsor and the Grantee will support the development of the PACE <br />(PURPOSEFUL ACTION CREATION & ENGAGEMENT) Plan in adopting the YEEE! <br />(Youth Empowerment, Employment and Entrepreneurship!) Model in providing paid, work- <br />based learning opportunities for 40 Redwood City and North Fair Oaks opportunity youth <br />in the summer. <br /> <br />The Fiscal Sponsor and the Grantee will develop job readiness skills and work experience <br />for 40 historically marginalized young people while establishing a school-to-workforce <br />pipeline in partnership with school districts, other community-based organizations, small <br />businesses and corporate partners in high-wage, in-demand careers, according to local <br />labor market data. <br /> <br /> 7. Scope of Work <br /> <br />Develop Youth Job Readiness and Work Experience - $140,000 <br /> <br />o Build the capacity of at least 15-20 small businesses/corporate partners/non- <br />profits and 3 specialized career academies to host a dynamic work-based learning <br />environment for young people while providing supportive employment through a 5- <br />week internship/career academy. <br /> <br />o Youth will build a strong secondary to post-secondary transition plan with actions <br />taken to work towards their post-secondary goals while creating a community of <br />support and coordinated services through healthy relationship building with peers <br />and adult mentors. <br /> <br />o Completion of a youth portfolio that consists of the following: resume, cover letter, <br />LinkedIn profile, timesheets, performance evaluation, weekly reflections, and job <br />training workshop activities. <br /> <br />o Train youth on the importance of civic engagement and how to identify problems <br />affecting their community in response to unemployment, equity gaps within <br />education, mental health, food security and housing. <br />
