REV: 12-21-2020 PR <br /> <br />1.2 CONTRACTOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />A. General. Contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment and services <br />necessary to perform and timely complete the Work in strict accordance with the <br />Contract Documents, and in an economic and efficient manner in the best <br />interests of City. <br />B. Responsibility for the Work and Risk of Loss. Contractor is responsible for <br />supervising and directing all aspects of the Work to facilitate the efficient and <br />timely completion of the Work. Contractor bears all risks of injury or damage to <br />the Work and the materials and equipment delivered to the worksite, by any <br />cause including fire, earthquake, wind, weather, vandalism or theft. <br />C. Project Administration. Contractor must provide sufficient and competent <br />administration, staff, and skilled workforce necessary to perform and timely <br />complete the Work in accordance with the Agreement. <br /> <br />D. Standards; Compliance. Contractor must, at all times, ensure that the Work is <br />performed in an efficient, skillful manner following best practices and in full <br />compliance with the Agreement and all applicable laws, regulations, codes, <br />standards, and permits, including City’s municipal code, rules, and regulations, <br />and any orders of the administrative or judicial bodies with jurisdiction over the <br />Work. <br />E. Correction of Defects. Contractor must promptly correct, at Contractor’s sole <br />expense, any Work that is determined by City to be deficient or defective in <br />workmanship, materials, parts, or equipment. City may elect to retain defective <br />Work and deduct the difference in value, as determined by the City’s project <br />manager, from payments otherwise due to Contractor. <br />1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Manufacturer's certificates showing conformance with this specification shall be <br />delivered with each shipment of materials and equipment delivered to the job site. <br />B. Only City inspected and approved material may be used. <br />C. Codes and Standards <br />1. The standards, recommended methods and tests contained in the <br />publications cited below shall determine the standards for the work to be <br />done hereunder unless otherwise specifically designated on the plans: <br /> <br />a. The California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (California <br />MUTCD), latest edition. <br /> <br />b. The regulations, standards, and tests of the State of California <br />Department of Transportation Materials and Research Division. <br />
