31 <br />Current Water Rates, Fees and Charges <br />Water rates are based on the City’s costs for operating and maintaining the Enterprise, <br />including the cost of water from the SFPUC under the WSA and the BAWSCA Surcharge, and on <br />projected amounts required for the Enterprise capital improvement program. <br />Current Water Rate Structure. There are two components of the water utility bill for all <br />customers, which work independently of each other: <br />A fixed, basic service charge, which is fixed for single-family residential accounts <br />and varies by meter size for multi-family residential and commercial accounts. <br />Basic service charges are assessed bi-monthly for residential accounts and <br />monthly for commercial accounts. <br />A water use charge, with tiered rates based on usage for single-family residential <br />accounts and fixed rates for multi-family residential and commercial accounts. <br />The following tables set forth the fixed and water use components of the Enterprise current <br />rate structure, as of February 1, 2024.
