13 <br /> <br />Boards, Commissions, and Committees Handbook| SeptemberMay 2024 2021 <br />The Arts Commission, established by Ordinance 2459, consists of seven members, appointed by <br />the City Council for four-year terms. The <br />general objectfves of the Arts <br />Commission shall be to ensure that art, <br />culture, and creatfve experiences are <br />woven into the fabric of the community, <br />and to encourage, foster, facilitate, <br />establish, and maintain art and <br />programs for all matters of artfstfc and <br />cultural significances in the City. <br /> <br /> <br />Dutfes include, but are not limited to (see City Smunicipal Municipal code Code Sectfon 2.111 for <br />full list of dutfes): <br />• To advise the City in matters pertaining to the quality, quantity, scope, and style of art <br />in public places; <br />• To periodically review, at least once a year, the capital improvement program with the <br />Director of Parks, Recreatfon and Community Services and such other members of the City <br />staff as may be appropriate for inclusion of works of art in various projects; <br />• To advise the City regarding the amounts to be expended on art in public places. <br /> <br /> <br />9.B. - Page 21 of 53 <br />177
