<br />9 <br /> <br />7.1.6 Effective the first full pay period following City Council approval of a <br />successor MOU in 2024, aA Police Officer (P700) shall be placed into the <br />Police Officer-Advanced (Ten-Year) classification (P710), when the <br />following criteria are met: <br /> <br />• The employee maintains a current performance evaluation of meets or <br />exceeds standards; <br />• The employee possesses a valid Advanced Certification awarded by the <br />California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training; <br />• The employee has completed sixty (60) college semester credits of <br />which twenty-four (24) must be in the Administration of Justice, or in <br />the alternative, an employee who possesses an A.A. or higher degree <br />from an accredited institution of higher learning; and <br />• The employee has completed ten (10) years of service as a sworn peace <br />officer, with at least two (2) years with the City of Redwood City (years <br />of service need not be continuous). <br /> <br />The Police Officer-Advanced (Ten-Year) (P710) salary range shall be set at <br />two and one half percent (2.5%) above the Police Officer classification <br />(P700) salary range. <br /> <br />7.1.7 Effective December 30, 2024, a Police Officer-Advanced (Ten-Year) <br />(P710) shall be placed into the Police Officer-Advanced (Fifteen-Year) <br />classification (PXXX711), when the following criteria are met: <br /> <br />• The employee maintains a current performance evaluation of meets or <br />exceeds standards; <br />• The employee possesses a valid Advanced Certification awarded by the <br />California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training; <br />• The employee has completed sixty (60) college semester credits of <br />which twenty-four (24) must be in the Administration of Justice, or in <br />the alternative, an employee who possesses an A.A. or higher degree <br />from an accredited institution of higher learning; and <br />• The employee has completed fifteen (15) years of service as a sworn <br />peace officer, with at least two (2) years with the City of Redwood City <br />(years of service need not be continuous). <br /> <br />The Police Officer-Advanced (Fifteen-year) (PXXX711) salary range shall <br />be set at five percent (5%) above the Police Officer classification (P700) <br />salary range. <br /> <br />7.2 Salary Increase on Promotion <br /> <br />Promotional appointments shall be made at the salary step in the new salary range <br />which results in a one-step increase in salary.
