City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
The purpose of this project is to preserve and extend the serviceable life of street segments listed in Table
1 by repairing failed roadway sections and installing a new layer of hot mix asphalt concrete. Work
includes spot repair, pavement grinding, placement of new asphalt, and installation of new traffic signs,
poles, speed cushions, and traffic striping and markings.
Street segments for this project were selected based on an assessment of overall pavement conditions,
traffic volume, age of pavement, frequency of maintenance, structural integrity, cost-effectiveness,
pavement type, public input, utility and construction projects, and funding available to efficiently use City
resources. Maintaining pavements in good condition extends their useful life while minimizing expensive
repair costs.
Table 1: Project Street Segments
Street Name From To
Redwood Avenue El Camino Real (State Route 82) Hudson Street
Redwood Avenue Hudson Street Valota Road
Figure 1: Project Location Map
The project design is based on the adopted Redwood City Walk, Bike, Thrive Plan and traffic calming
requests the City received from the neighborhood residents.
