City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Construction is anticipated to begin in late spring 2025, proceed for 90 days, and conclude by summer
2025. The contractor is obligated to notify area businesses, residents, Neighborhood Associations, and
schools two weeks prior to the start of work. Notification will include construction message boards, door
hangers, project signs, and temporary No Parking signs. The City will post this information on social
media and the City’s website.
EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENT
Seventy percent of the rehabilitated sections of Redwood Avenue lies within an Equity Priority Community
(EPC), which ensures that improvements in this area directly benefit a community in need of enhanced
infrastructure. The project aligns with the City’s broader goal to address disparities in access to quality
transportation. Notably, about 25 percent of the City’s street mileage falls within EPCs, highlighting the
importance of prioritizing investments in these areas to promote equitable development and improve
mobility for historically underserved populations. Figure 2 identifies the portion of Redwood Avenue that
is within the EPC. There are no burdens to any specific communities anticipated by this project or as a
result of this action, and the project benefits are aligned with the City’s transportation goals.
Figure 2: Equity Priority Communities Location Map
6.D. - Page 4 of 6
66
