Safety Plan <br />Work must be performed in accordance with the latest AWWA, California State Water <br />Resources Control Board (CA SWRCB), and Occupational Safety and Health <br />Administration (OSHA) regulations. This shall include, but is not limited to, OSHA <br />standards for tank and confined spaces entry. Contractor is required to submit a <br />written safety plan prior to commencing any work. <br />F. Warning Signs and Barricades <br />If required, the Contractor shall provide suitable warning signs and barricades to <br />protect the public from injury due to its operations or presence of its equipment on or <br />near the site of work. <br />G. Schedule of Work and Time for Completion <br />The Contractor shall consult with the Redwood City Water Division or its designated <br />representative in planning its work schedule to make sure the Redwood City Water <br />Division is ready to proceed. Work shall be scheduled no less than two weeks in <br />advance. <br />All work shall be performed during Redwood City’s Public Works work schedule of <br />Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm. Work shall be scheduled and completed within <br />the fiscal year indicated for each tank between the months of July and September, <br />except for tanks scheduled for FY 2024-25 which shall be completed by June 2025. <br />H. Protection of Adjacent Property <br />Structures adjacent to property shall be protected. The City shall not be responsible <br />for any damages caused by Contractor. <br />I. Storm Water Pollution Prevention <br />Contractor shall at all times comply with storm water pollution prevention practices for <br />potable water discharges and implement best management practices (BMPs) for <br />dechlorination, erosion and sediment control, and monitoring per the California <br />Statewide General Permit for Drinking Water System Discharges to waters of the <br />United States. The contractor shall report to the City the total volume of water <br />discharged in gallons for each separate event. An event shall be considered to be the <br />total volume discharges from an individual water tank or reservoir per calendar day. <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for monitoring chlorine residual, turbidity, and pH <br />downstream of the implemented BMPs to measure their effectiveness and submit the <br />results to the City in its Event Monitoring Log (incorporated herein as Exhibit “B”). For <br />reference a copy of the City’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Guide for Potable <br />Water Discharges may be provided to the Contractor upon request. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025/Amend.
