<br />13 <br /> <br />The City shall reimburse employees for those miles employees are required to drive their <br />personal vehicles in the performance of assigned job duties as follows: <br /> <br />x For travel to and from destination of less than three hundred (300) miles, actual <br />costs to and from destination not to exceed a maximum of the current IRS mileage <br />reimbursement rate for miles traveled both within and outside the City by any <br />privately-owned conveyance. <br /> <br />x For travel to and from destination in excess of three hundred (300) miles, said <br />maximum shall not exceed actual air coach fare when such fare is less than the <br />amount computed at the aforesaid rates. For the purposes of this subsection, the <br />actual cost for miles, actually traveled by privately owned conveyance, including <br />cost of fuel, maintenance, repairs, insurance and depreciation, shall be deemed <br />equal to the maximum allowance provided for in this subsection. <br /> <br />If the City is reimbursed by P.O.S.T. for an employee's mileage payment, the City shall <br />pay to the employee the full amount of the P.O.S.T. reimbursement, in lieu of the <br />reimbursement described above. <br /> <br />7.9 Education Incentive Pay <br /> <br />Employees who possess the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and <br />Training (P.O.S.T.) Intermediate Certificate shall receive educational incentive pay equal <br />to two and one-half percent (2.5%) of base salary. <br /> <br />Effective the first full pay period following City Council approval of a successor MOU in <br />2025, Eemployees who possess the P.O.S.T. Advanced Certificate shall receive <br />educational incentive pay equal to an additional three and one-half five percent (3.5%) of <br />base salary for a total of seven and one-half percent (7.5%) six percent (6.0%) of base <br />salary for the P.O.S.T. Advanced Certificate. <br /> <br />Educational incentive pay shall commence on the date of issuance of the certificate. <br /> <br />Employees who possess a Bachelor’s degree will receive one and one-half percent (1.5%) <br />of base salary as education incentive pay. <br /> <br />Effective the first full pay period following City Council approval of a successor MOU in <br />2025, Education Incentive (POST and degree pay combined) will not exceed nine percent <br />(9%) seven and one-half percent (7.5%) for any employee. <br /> <br />Effective the first full pay period following City Council approval of a successor MOU in <br />2025, Police Officers hired by the City before January 23, 2023 who promote to Police <br />Sergeant, who, at the time of promotion, earn a combined total of nine percent (9%)seven <br />and one-half percent (7.5%) base salary for Intermediate and Advanced P.O.S.T., and who <br />do not possess a Bachelor’s Degree, will continue to earn a total nine percent (9%)7.5% <br />base salary for Intermediate and Advanced P.O.S.T. combined following promotion. If the <br />employee subsequently earns a Bachelor’s degree, the employee’s Education Incentive <br />(POST and degree pay combined) will not exceed nine percent (9%)seven and one-half <br />percent (7.5%). <br /> <br />7.10 Bilingual Premium <br />6.H. - Page 21 of 72 <br />363
