CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />SUMMARY OF COMPENSATION AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT <br />FOR THE CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEE GROUP <br /> <br />Page 27 of 34 <br />For employees assigned to work a 9/80 work schedule (with a regular day off every <br />other week), each employee’s designated seven-day work period shall begin <br />exactly four (4) hours after the start of their eight (8) hour shift on the day of the <br />week that corresponds to the employee’s alternating regular day off. <br /> <br />C. Overtime and CTO for Non-Exempt Employees: For Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) <br />Non-Exempt employees, overtime is to be paid after forty (40) hours in paid status <br />in one (1) work week, and for work performed in excess of eight (8) consecutive <br />hours in one (1) day (exclusive of lunch period), except an employee who is <br />assigned to a shift consisting of more than eight (8) consecutive hours in one (1) <br />workday (exclusive of lunch period) shall be entitled to overtime after forty (40) <br />hours in paid status in one (1) work week. All overtime must be authorized by the <br />department head in advance and documented on time cards. <br /> <br />With the approval of the Department Head, non-exempt classifications can <br />accumulate up to a maximum of eighty (80) hours of compensatory time off, which <br />may be used at times chosen by the employee and approved by the Department <br />Head. Accrued compensatory time not used by December 31st shall be paid out <br />at the straight time rate. Payment will be made no later than the first pay period <br />in February of the following year. <br /> <br />D. Management Leave for FLSA Exempt Employees. FLSA exempt employees may be <br />required to perform hours of work outside of their regular work schedule. In <br />recognition of that additional work, employees may be eligible to earn <br />management leave up to the limits stated below. Employees in such classifications <br />shall receive one (1) hour of management leave for each hour of contractual <br />overtime worked, up to a maximum of one hundred sixty (160) hours per calendar <br />year. <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 2025 January 1, 2026, and January 1, 2027, employees in the <br />following classifications shall be credited with forty (40) hours of frontloaded <br />management leave: <br /> <br />Business Manager (PD) <br />Management Analyst II (Confidential) <br />Principal Analyst – Administrative Services <br />Principal Analyst – Workers Compensation <br />Senior Human Resources Analyst <br /> <br />6.I. - Page 91 of 119 <br />505
