<br /> <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Bicycle Circulation: <br /> Added new bike faciliƟes on segments of Roosevelt Avenue, El Camino Real, and <br />Woodside Road in 2024. <br /> Advanced design and secured grant funding for two corridor level bikeway projects <br />on Vera Avenue and Bay Road. <br /> IniƟated the Bay Trail Gap Closure project, which is to close a gap in the Bay Trail <br />between Menlo Park border and the future Redwood City ferry terminal. <br /> Secured funding for US 101/SR 84 interchange project which include high-quality, <br />dedicated, bicycle faciliƟes that go through a busy freeway interchange and <br />provide safe and conƟnuous connecƟons between the two sides of the freeway <br />(U.S. 101) and two sides of the highway (Route 84). <br />Fees: <br /> In 2024, City updated the TransportaƟon Impact Fee (TIF) Nexus Study and <br />associated projects list and incorporated mulƟ-modal transportaƟon projects to <br />be funded through the TIF program. <br /> <br />Building Community Element <br />Pursuant to Goal BC-4 of the Building Community Element, which is to “provide state-of-the-art <br />community facilities that support established programs, accommodate future needs, and are <br />accessible to all members of the community,” Redwood City made significant progress on <br />construction of the new Veterans Memorial Senior Center in Red Morton Park. The 45,000 sq. ft. <br />Center, which is anticipated to open to the Redwood City community in mid-2025, will include <br />the following: <br /> 299-seat theater <br /> Catering and food demonstraƟon kitchen <br /> Welcoming lobby for social gatherings <br /> Exhibit space honoring veterans <br /> NaƟonal Football League (NFL) alumni exhibit space <br /> Pickleball and half-court basketball gymnasium <br /> Wellness and adapƟve physical educaƟon studios <br /> Roof top garden and walking track <br /> Various conference and administraƟve spaces for City staff and a host of non-profit <br />organizaƟons who partner with the City to provide numerous community services. <br />Pursuant to Building Community Element Goal BC-11, which is to “accommodate community <br />needs for safe, high-quality, and affordable child care services and facilities, both for Redwood <br />City residents and people who work in Redwood City,” City Council adopted amendments to the <br />Zoning Code in 2024 to: <br />6.A. - Page 48 of 52 <br />57
