The project design shall comply with the California Building Standards Code <br />effective at the time of building permit application per CBC 1.1.9. <br /> <br />48. Construction Permits. Individual building and fire code permit reviews will be required on <br />all demolitions, remodels, tenant improvements, and new construction in accordance with <br />the legally adopted codes and standards in place at the time of permit application. The <br />applicant shall indicate on all building permit plans that all construction shall meet current <br />applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards at the time of building permit <br />submittal. The building permit plans are subject to review and approval by the Fire Marshal <br />or his/her designee. [CBC/CFC 105] [FIRE] <br /> <br />49. Building Code Summary Analysis. A building code summary analysis shall be provided on <br />the plans submitted for a building permit. [CBC §107.2.1] [COA][FIRE] <br /> <br />50. Construction Egress and Standpipes. The applicant shall maintain required egress for all <br />adjacent buildings/properties. During construction, provide a temporary or permanent <br />stairway. As construction progresses, the stairway shall be extended to within one floor of <br />the highest point of construction having secured decking or flooring. Not less than one Class <br />I standpipe shall be provided for use during construction. Such standpipes shall be installed <br />prior to construction exceeding 40 feet in height above the lowest level of fire department <br />vehicle access. The standpipe(s) shall be provided with Fire Department hose connections <br />at locations adjacent to the stairways and shall be extended to within one floor of the <br />highest point of construction having secured decking or flooring. Plans and requests by <br />letter shall be submitted to the Fire Marshal or his/her designee for review and approval. <br />[CFC §§3311.1 and §3313.1][SDR] <br /> <br />51. Standpipes. A Class I or III standpipe system is required for the building. Hose outlets shall <br />be located in the intermediate landings of the stairways and as required by the California <br />Fire Code Section 905.4 per Redwood City Municipal Code Section 12.21.2. [FIRE] [CBC <br />§905.3] <br /> <br />52. Ambulance Cot (Gurney) Elevator. At least one elevator must be able to accommodate an <br />ambulance stretcher measuring 24 inches by 84 inches with not less than 5-inch radius <br />corners, in the horizontal, open position and shall be identified by the international symbol <br />for emergency medical services (star of life). The symbol shall be not less than 3 inches in <br />height and shall be placed inside on both sides of the hoist way door frame. The plans shall <br />include the elevator make and model, along with dimensions and schematics. If this <br />information is deferred, the plan shall clarify the timeline for submission to avoid delays. <br />[CBC 3002.4] [FIRE] <br />
