Access for Emergency Responders: Including clear access for emergency vehicles, fire <br />lane requirements, signage, staging areas for fire apparatus, and street closure <br />reviews. <br />d. Temporary Fire Protection Measures: Including temporary systems and the phasing of <br />permanent systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, and standpipes. <br />e. Construction Fire Safety Plan: Per California Fire Code Chapter 33, including fire <br />extinguisher placement, hot work permits and monitoring, combustible material <br />storage and handling, smoking restrictions and designated areas, and emergency <br />procedures and evacuation plans. <br />f. Inspections and Testing: Including timelines for scheduling, scope, fees, and <br />notification. <br />g. Communication and Coordination: Including pre-fire planning walkthroughs and drills <br />with engine and truck companies. <br />64. Barricades or Obstructions across Emergency Access Roads. Fire access roads are to <br />remain unobstructed at all times. Prior to the installation or use of barricades, fences, or <br />gates across emergency vehicle access roads during construction, the applicant shall submit <br />plans for review and approval by the Fire Marshal or their designee. <br />Fire – Prior to Occupancy <br />65. Emergency Responder Radio Coverage. Provide either an engineering analysis that two- <br />way coverage at a minimum inbound and outbound signal strength not less than a Delivered <br />Audio Quality of 3.0 or an equivalent Signal-to-Interface-Noise-Ratio will be achieved in 95% <br />of the completed building or note on the plans an Emergency Responder Radio Coverage <br />System (ERRCS) will be provided as a deferred submittal and all Emergency Responder <br />Radio System Frequency Requirements and Redwood City Municipal Code Section <br />pertaining to ERRCS, including but not limited to Section 12.12, Section 12.16.2, Section <br />12.16.3, and Section 12.16.4, shall be met. Regardless of the engineering analysis results, <br />if the constructed building cannot meet the minimum inbound and outbound signal <br />strength an ERRCS shall be installed prior to occupancy [CFC §510.1][FIRE] <br /> <br />66. Fire Lane Signs. Mark fire apparatus access roads with permanent NO PARKING-FIRE LANE <br />signs and/or painted curbs in accordance with state and local standards. [FIRE] [CFC §503.3] <br /> <br />67. Public Address System. Install a public address system for the exclusive use of Fire <br />Department personnel, peace officers, or other City enforcement personnel according to <br />specifications approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau. Controls for, and access to, shall be <br />installed on the ground floor of the building at a location subject to the approval of the fire <br />code official. [FIRE] <br /> <br />Design systems in accordance with NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code as an <br />in-building fire emergency voice alarm communication system.
