Approve claims and checks from January 27, 2025 to February 8, 2025 and the usual <br />and necessary payments through February 8, 2025 (303) <br /> <br />7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br /> 7.A. Approve maximum 2025 solid waste collection rates for regular and unscheduled <br />services provided by Recology San Mateo County and accept and adopt Franchise Fee <br />Study (803) Reso 16276 <br /> <br />Public Works Services Director Terence Kyaw introduced the item, and Public Works <br />Superintendent Adrian Lee gave the staff presentation. <br /> <br />Mayor Martínez Saballos opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />The following members of the public provided comments: <br />• James Cowing <br />• Carol J. Sconzert <br /> <br />Mayor Martínez Saballos closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Hold a public hearing on proposed increases to solid waste collection rates and if <br />written protests are not made by a majority of the affected parcels, adopt a resolution <br />approving maximum 2025 solid waste collection rates and adopting the Franchise Fee <br />Study (requires 5/7 vote); and <br />2. Direct staff to continue to promote the City's Utility Rate Assistance Program. <br /> <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br /> <br />Motion and second, Howard and Sturken, to adopt a resolution approving maximum <br />2025 solid waste collection rates and adopting the Franchise Fee Study, and direct staff <br />to continue to promote the City's Utility Rate Assistance Program, passed unanimously <br />by electronic vote. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
