From:Sweekriti Ratnam
To:publiccomment
Subject:Council Meeting Agenda 7B
Date:Monday, April 28, 2025 11:36:32 AM
You don't often get email from sweekriti.ratnam@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
Hello Councilmembers,
My name is Sweekriti Ratnam. I am a junior at Carlmont High School and am writing to
express my full support for moving forward with the development of the Teen Center across
from Sequoia High School. As a Redwood City teenager, I have seen firsthand the importance
of teenagers having a safe space to hang out and work in, given the pressures and stress we
face daily. Not all teenagers may have a safe space to come to after school, which can severely
impact their health and well-being. Having a Teen Center would allow the teenagers of
Redwood City to have a constant space in their lives where they can meet with others,
finish their homework, or get access to crucial physical and mental health resources, which are
all things the Teen Center across from Sequoia High School can provide. To better the lives
and experiences of teenagers in our community, I strongly support the development of the
Teen Center.
Regards,
Sweekriti Ratnam
