REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />Glider Package (LT) <br />TRAILER AXLE <br />The trailer axle shall be a Hendrickson STEERTEK Non-drive, NXT Fire/Rescue model. The axle <br />shall be a box-shaped fabricated beam with integrated suspension. The axle shall include a <br />conventional style hub with a standard knuckle. The weight capacity for the axle shall be rated to <br />24,000 pounds. <br />The trailer axle shall be supplied with Stemco oil seals. <br />The Hendrickson Steertek NXT axle shall be provided with a five (5) year parts and labor warranty <br />which shall include the axle and kingpin assembly, the steering arm assembly, and the upper and <br />lower steering knuckle assembly. <br />TRAILER SUSPENSION <br />The trailer suspension shall include a parabolic leaf spring pack integrated into the Hendrickson <br />STEERTEK NXT axle consisting of wide tapered leaf springs and a military double wrapped front <br />eye. Spring eyes shall have Hendrickson’s proprietary threaded pin bushings to increase roll <br />stiffness. The spring capacity shall be rated specifically to the axle configuration from 18,000 and <br />up to 24,000 pounds. Heavy duty shock absorbers shall be installed on the trailer suspension. <br />The warranty for the integrated suspension components shall be two (2) years or two hundred <br />fifty thousand (250,000) miles, whichever occurs first. <br /> <br />The integrated suspension components covered under this two year warranty are limited to: <br /> <br />Front Frame Hanger Assemblies <br />Rear Shackle Assemblies <br />Jounce Stop Assemblies <br />Rear Frame Hanger Assemblies <br />Shock Absorbers <br />Shock Absorber Brackets <br />Leaf Spring Assemblies <br />TRAILER TIRES <br />The trailer tires shall be Goodyear 425/65R 22.5 tubeless radial, 20 ply Armor Max MSA tread. <br />The rear tire stamped load capacity shall be 22,800 pounds per axle with a speed rating of 68 <br />miles per hour when properly inflated to 120 pounds per square inch. <br />The Goodyear Intermittent Service Rating load capacity shall be 24,400 pounds per axle with a <br />speed rating of 68 miles per hour when properly inflated to 120 pounds per square inch. <br />The Goodyear Intermittent Service Rating limits the operation of the emergency vehicle to no <br />more than fifty (50) miles of continuous operation under maximum recommended payload, or <br />without stopping for at least twenty (20) minutes.
