REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />TRAILER BRAKE RESERVOIR <br />The trailer brakes shall be supplied by a single air reservoir with a capacity of 2,084 cubic inches. <br />AIR TANK PULL CABLE <br />A manual drain valve operated by a stainless steel pull cable shall be installed on the trailer air <br />supply system reservoir. The cable shall be extended to the outer edge of the apparatus and shall <br />be actuated by a key ring. A label shall be affixed indicating “Air Tank Drain”. <br />TRAILER BRAKES, DISC <br />The trailer brakes shall be Arvin Meritor EX225 H4-17 disc type and shall conform to existing <br />Department of Transportation braking regulations at time of manufacture. <br />TRAILER BRAKE CHAMBERS <br />The trailer brake chambers shall be MGM “24/24” piston style brake chambers mounted on the <br />trailer axle. <br />ROPE ANCHOR POINTS <br />There shall be four (4) D-ring anchor points provided and installed, two (2) each side, on the trailer <br />frame gooseneck, below the fifth wheel. The anchors shall be connected directly to the trailer <br />frame rails and shall be rated at 9,000 lbs. capacity. <br />TILLER CAB <br />A permanently mounted, fully enclosed tiller cab shall be provided at the rear of the apparatus. <br />The cab shall be arranged to provide maximum visibility for maneuvering the apparatus. The cab <br />shall be constructed of aluminum extrusion framework with .125 skins to minimize weight and to <br />improve strength and visibility. The cab floor shall be covered with/fabricated from non-skid <br />aluminum diamondplate to provide a support surface for the tillerman. <br />The front windshield shall be a three (3) section design for maximum driver visibility. The glass <br />shall be D.O.T. approved AS-1 laminated automotive safety glass. The corner frontal glass <br />sections shall be angled to improve side visibility for the tillerman. The windshield design shall <br />allow easy replacement in the field using commonly available glass from local sources. <br />Proprietary windshield designs shall not be acceptable. <br />The cab shall be provided with a center mounted driver's pedestal, which contains all necessary <br />controls, indicating lights and switches. The dash area of the pedestal shall not exceed 19.5 <br />inches in width to provide maximum visibility for the tiller driver. <br />The dash shall contain windshield wiper controls, indicator light for “Approaching Jackknife <br />Position”, turn signal indicators, switches as required, heater and air conditioning controls. <br />Controls, gauges and indicators in the tiller cab shall be positioned and mounted for ease of use <br />by the tiller driver. <br />The steering column shall be provided with a tilt and telescopic feature.
