REV: 04-29-25 LF <br />An override switch shall provided under the driver's side dash to allow the engine to be started <br />for maintenance or in case of emergency. <br />The system shall be activated in the tiller cab by a weatherproof foot switch. <br />EXTERIOR HANDRAILS <br />An exterior handrail shall be located on each side of the tiller cab to aid the tiller man in entering <br />and exiting the cab. Each handrail shall be of sufficient length to provide adequate gripping area <br />and shall be properly sized to fit the available mounting area on the apparatus <br />Handrails shall be 1.25 inches in diameter, constructed of knurled #3 polished stainless steel <br />tubing. There shall be a 2.00 inch minimum clearance between the bracket and the mounting <br />surface. “Offset” mounting brackets shall be provided. <br />MIRRORS <br />Two (2) 8” rear view convex mirrors shall be provided to aid the tiller man while maneuvering. The <br />mirrors shall be mounted to obtain the maximum viewing area for the tiller man. <br />WIPERS <br />Three (3) two-speed electric windshield wipers shall be provided for the exterior surfaces of the <br />front windshield sections. A windshield washer system with a 2 quart (minimum) reservoir shall <br />be provided. The wiper motors shall be accessible for service through access panels on the front <br />face of the cab. <br />SUN VISOR <br />A hinged tinted Plexiglas sun visor shall be provided for the front windshield. <br />TILLER AXLE POSITION INDICATOR <br />A visual display shall be provided on the tiller cab dash to indicate the position of the rear steering <br />axle. The display shall be suitably illuminated for nighttime operations and angle mounted as <br />needed to provide optimum viewing for the tillerman without leaning forward in the seat. <br />INTERIOR DOME LIGHT <br />A red/white LED dome light, with integral switch, shall be provided to illuminate the tiller cab <br />interior. <br />DUAL AIR VENTS <br />Dual manual air vents shall be provided in the lower panels below the tiller cab rear window, one <br />(1) each side. <br />HEATER/DEFROSTER <br />For the tillerman’s comfort, the cab shall be equipped with a minimum 13,000 BTU <br />heater/defroster. <br />ATTY/AGR.2025.089/Fire Apparatus Solutions (Purchase of Spartan-LTC 105' TDA) (Page 126 of 150)
